Licensing

This section provides an overview of the Blank-it licensing and activation system.

Terminology

• A license refers to your overall software license, identified by a product key.
• A license activation is a single instance of a license on a specific computer.

One license may be activated on many computers.

Blank-it software license activation

The Blank-it software requires a valid activation of the software license to perform optimally.

When the Blank-it software is launched for the first time, it will attempt to contact the Blank-it licensing server in order to obtain a machine-specific activation of the license.

It will also automatically contact the Blank-it licensing server whenever its current activation is nearing expiry.

Firewall settings

In order to properly acquire a license activation, a PC running Blank-it must be able to make web requests to https://licensing.blank-it.com. As a result, it is recommended that any firewalls are configured to allow this traffic through.
